Kudos to Magnum Gunsmithing in Lima, OH. Glen re-threaded the barrel on my L1A1, adjusted the headspace and even threw in a flash hider he had pained to match the barrel. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty.

Now I just need to get rid of the ugly plastic stock.

I had one of Glen's FAL's pass through my hands as well... Mojomatic to me to my nephew as a high school graduation present. 50.00 type. Of my 3 FAL's, it was easily the "purdiest."

Nephew is VERY happy. Even 2 years later.

Glad to hear. He's currently working on barrelling an M1 receiver with new Criterion. Met him once, seems like a good guy.

He did a nice job for me twice, much better than Moses, who fucked up a number of things. This includes both an Imbel/DSA receiver FAL and an AK-74 built on a Bulgy kit w/ Nodak receiver.

It's a real pleasure to read something positive about a gunsmith rather than the usual bitchery. Filing Magnum Gunsmithing for future reference, Ohio ain't that far.

I appreciate your response
You can read reviews all day long
But I would rather reach out and hear from folks that have had work done
Thanks
Years ago he did an Argentine para FAL for me that turned out great. I sold it to a member here, still unfired, and he was more than satisfied.

I thought he was out of business as I sent him a message through his website several months ago and never got a response. I'm glad he's still doing work.

I don't think he's independent anymore, but works with a gun store up in the Youngstown area.

I had Glen build one of the G1 kits that DSA put together in the late 90's / Early 2000 .. Some of the old timers remember them .. Most were non-matching but were all hand picked parts .. They parked most of them .. I got mine in a trade and sent it to Glen .. It was beautiful .. I traded it for a 1917 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine, last yr, that was in 90% condition .. I found it a month ago in Birmingham at the Gun collectors show .. Guy couldn't sell it .. ?? .. I bought it back for $1900.00 .. I'll post a pic on this thread .. tomorrow .. Never fired since Glen built it ..

Glen is a Master Gunsmith .. When you see the G1 you'll know why .. !! .. He put a black duracote finish on it and did all the letters and numbers .. I wouldn't take 3 grand for it now .. !!

If you want the best .. send it to Glen .. !!!

I almost forgot He also did 2 Romy RPKs for me .. Sold one to Gobbler and kept one .. Still have it .. Slickest AK type rifle I've ever owned .. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Also blued a 1911 for me .. Beautiful .. He can do anything with anything .. Not a one trick pony like some around here .. ;)

I'll post some pics in my old "WOOD" thread also .. Glen deserves some recognition for his great work .. !!!
