Oh, yeah - I never meant to say anything about the quality of your test... just that you were (correctly) pointing out that most .30 cal bullets aren't going to act like some amazing 'hunter' at low velocities, and I sorta *want* that low velocity / low recoil / low sound-signature inside my house, and I'll be okay with it using these CD bullets.

I think the 9x39 makes sense for a one-gun solution - where you can change what's going on just by changing the ammo. I'm going in the other direction, which is "specific gun" inside the house, and "different gun" (and ammo, etc.) if I ever walk away from everything.

We are in complete agreement. Inside the house, you don't need supersonics or sniper rifles or sniper rifle ballistics to hit something 12 feet away. Subsonics should work wonderful in that situation. It's why I also mostly use subs for that role too.

Less over penetration. less noise. Less flash and smoke setting off the smoke alarms (which is real if you've ever shot inside a house before).

As for the 9x39, I don't use it for HD. I treat it more like a longer range quiet PCC.

For HD, I'm using an integral AR45 with +P acp 230 gr around 940'ish fps. Works for me.
