which one, and WHY

ok, lets spark a little life in here...

these are my two "micro" pistols. Just got the PPK/S yesterday, and am awaiting a holster... so I dont carry it YET. I have carried the Taurus, and it seems fine for purpose.... but, what would you tote around, and why?

Specs:

Taurus, 12 rounds 9mm, 665g fully loaded ready for action
PPK/S 7 rounds .380, 730 grains fully loaded, ready for action

seems to me that the Taurus has the edge in both weight and firepower. That should make it a no brainer, BUT, its just boxier to me... the edges arent as nice, and the texture on the polymer is rougher, so can grab clothing more (if that matters to you). The Walther has been there and doing that since 1933 (ish), and is well proven as a carry piece for generations. is sometimes the classic the better answer.... lets see what y'all have to say... Ill carry both of them....

Which one can be cleared from the holster and hit center mass quickly?

I think the Walther has more panache , depending on your holster , more snag free, but how do your sights align when you go to presentation? Close your eyes and draw it to presentation, are your sights fairly well aligned?
The grip angle looks different , I don't own any Glocks , handled and shot them , good weapon. I am a 1911 person and I have to purposely adjust my grip angle or I shoot about 3 feet high at 10 yards.

What does "proven as a carry piece for generations" mean?

Trade those in or keep em for fun. Get a glock 43x or a sig 365 of some sort. Both are better guns with 9mm power, more ammo, more reliable...your life is worth more than an old "snazzy" 380 or a newer Taurus....buy one of them, hit the range and never look back.jmho.

+1 for trading them in and getting a G43 or 43X. You may even get some cash on top of the PPK/S. That’s my .02 anyway . I’m not a fan of anything less than 9mm for EDC.

It's pretty. It looks great on the big screen. But compared to more modern pistols, the Walther PPK is a horrible choice for self-defense.

Having owned & carried a Walther PPK/s for a period of time as an off duty weapon i can confidently say, it was one of the nastiest shooting pistols I ever shot.
Horrendous DA trigger pull, too many sharp edges that left me bleeding every time I shot it, nasty recoil, poor sites, the slide mounted decocking safety sucks due to the small size of the lever & smallish size of the pistol and mine was very picky about what HP ammo it would feed even after polishing the feed ramp & magazine feed lips. Also spare magazines were stupidly expensive.
